Foreword

This is a collection of mainly newspaper articles about the community of Mount Denson, Hants Co., Nova Scotia that were collected in search of the Mount Denson, MacDonald Family. Genealogy is not just about a family unit, but about the entire community and surrounding communities that they lived in. A community not only helps shape family values, aspirations and goals but also provincial, national and worldwide concerns. From Women’s Institute Rallies showing the use of flour bag clothing during the Great Depression to raising money for missionary work around the world after WWII, a community is shaped by the people and their values.
