The countdown is on. The museum’s summer season is coming to a close, which means that us summer students are packing up their things to jump into fall. We’ve had a great time, and I was able to meet some new people as well as learn more about those I already knew. Co-workers are always what makes a job great, so I’d say we’ve been pretty lucky in that respect. There are just some things that only people who work in genealogy will get, like when I say “Yesterday someone asked me to find a John Smith…without a birth date,” and am consequently met with a ‘we feel your pain’ look.
It’s been a whole lot of fun this summer, and I hope everyone else enjoyed it as much as I have. We made a lot of memories (and took lots of pictures…they’re on Facebook!) that I’m sure we’ll be smiling about for a long time.
This is a relatively short blog post, but it just seemed fitting. Thank you to Pam and John, for always putting up with our antics and often giggling along, and to everyone else I’ve had the chance to work with this summer. You’ve been great. Even you, Kel!
As always, it’s been great working for the West Hants Historical Society; you get to have a lot more adventures than you would at first think.
