Museum Guide Interpreters & Genealogical Research Assistant

Hourly Wage: $15.70 Hours Per Week: 35
Days: Wed – Sun Hours: 9:00am to 5:00pm
*Start date and duration will be determined by the available program funding that we receive.
Position Duties and Tasks:
Under the direction of a volunteer supervisors, you will be responsible for the daily operation of a busy museum including guiding visitors and tours, and participating in museum events. Projects will be assigned based on your interests and abilities
Position Duties and Tasks May Include:
- assist with the daily operations of a busy museum/research facility
- interpretation of historic exhibits
- guided tours when required
- research of local history topics
- processing of artifacts and archival materials as time permits
- exhibition and event support
- records management
- customer service
Ideal candidates
- those who have a passion for history and heritage
- those who have a positive attitude and are detail oriented
- those who can work independently
- strong in written, verbal and organizational skills
- experience with scanners, graphic software and databases would be an asset
- French language skills an asset, but not necessary
