The WHHS is hosting a book launch for the newly published book “Gypsum Royal Fleet” written by St Clair (Joey) Patterson from Hantsport, NS. It is a short history of the transportation of Gypsum from Hants County and other parts of Nova Scotia to the manufacturing facilities in the United States. The book has 200 pages filled with photos, history of gypsum ships and barges as well as the history of the people who sailed them.

The cost of the book is $25.00.

A public reception will be held on May 10, 2014 from 2 pm to 4 pm at the Museum to celebrate the release of this significant work. Mr Patterson will be in attendance to sign copies of his book.

For those of you who are unable to attend, you will be able to order a book after the book launch. For mail orders, there will be the charge for shipping and handling, so please include your mailing address when you order.

A light snack with tea and coffee will be served.
