Summer Project: Short Documentary Film

The Project

Our summer student, Fadila Chater, has been tasked with a project that will creatively incorporate the diverse cultural history of Hants County. She is looking for people to interview in a short documentary film. She is looking for individuals from different cultural or ethnic backgrounds to share their personal stories or ancestral stories from either the Mi’kmaq, Acadian, African Nova Soctian, or new immigrant communities from the Hants County area. People who are descendants of these ethnic and cultural groups are more than welcome to get in contact with her to tell their own stories about the Hants County Area.

Intended Use

This film project, once completed, will be used for educational and entertainment purposes at local schools and within the historical society and community.

Submit your story

If this sounds like an opportunity for you, please send Fadila an email at summer@westhantshistoricalsociety.ca with the subject title: Canada 150 Fadila. You can also call the museum at 902 798 4706. The project will be finished by the beginning of August 2017, so don’t hesitate to contact us.
